Program Profile

Electronic technology has entered every area of our lives at an increasingly rapid pace. Electrical and electronic structures are widely used in all kinds of information systems, communication and telecommunication tools; music, sound, and image systems; air, sea, and land transportation vehicle systems; smart building systems; and all energy generation, energy transmission, energy distribution, and industrial production systems.

Energy generation and transmission systems, satellite communication, mobile phones, and computer electronics are among the highly critical systems in which electronics play a role. Electronic Technologies are vital for the design and development of wireless communication and the internet, advanced mobile phones, more powerful computers, more advanced high-speed modems, and energy and industrial automation. Personnel with electronic competence participate in studies that lead to the development of modern technologies capable of accomplishing the most creative and challenging tasks. Meeting the need for competent personnel who will adapt to and advance these developments will create added value by strengthening our country’s goal of becoming a regional and global power.

Program Educational Objectives

The program has been designed to address, in practical cooperation with the sector, the operating principles of electrical and electronic devices, systems, and solutions in the energy sector.

Students are educated through both theoretical and practical training, enabling them to meet the sector’s need for personnel in this field.

Graduates begin their careers in the energy sector as Specialist Technicians who are competent in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic systems, who know electrical and electronic systems, equipment, and their characteristics, and who are able to apply their knowledge to electrical and electronic systems and equipment.

The program covers the basic principles of electricity and electronics; installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment; measuring instruments; computer use; drawing and reading electrical and electronic circuit schematics by using computer-aided drawing and design programs (CAD/CAM or e-Plan, etc.); computer-based and electronic control of industrial machines; preparation of technical reports; and project preparation.

To ensure that our students gain practical skills as well as theoretical knowledge, we provide practical training in our laboratories covering Basic Level Digital Electronics, 8086/88 Microprocessor, Industrial Sensors, Conveyor Belt, Process and SCADA, PLC and Arduino Training Sets, and electrical-electronic measuring instruments. In addition, study opportunities are offered outside class hours under the guidance of our specialist technicians.

Vision

To educate Electronics Technicians who are ready for business life, who will follow and successfully apply existing and new technologies in the Electricity/Electronics and Energy sector, who are creative, inquisitive, productive, and able to combine theoretical knowledge with practical applications.

Mission

To be a leading educational institution that will serve as an example, that educates graduates who can take part in all processes in the Electricity/Electronics and Energy sector, and who will be preferred by employers at the beginning of their careers, and that develops up-to-date educational methods together with professionals from the field.
