Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering is a new branch of science within Metallurgy and Materials Engineering that places greater emphasis on nanomaterials and nanotechnology. At Yeditepe University, the Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering (MSNE) department is a strong and well-established department, thanks to its high-quality education and comprehensive research program. MSNE's vision is to train well-educated, responsible, open-minded engineers equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge, who are creative, ethical, socially responsible, environmentally conscious, public-interest-oriented, and team-oriented, at both national and international levels.
One of the key objectives of the MSNE Department is to contribute to the education and training of qualified engineers needed in the field of nanotechnology, a new and emerging area.
Our most important support in achieving this goal is our academic staff, whose research focuses primarily on nanomaterials and nanotechnology, including functional surfaces and materials, biotechnology, composite and textile materials, as well as energy-related topics.
Our curriculum consists of courses that teach fundamental engineering sciences and cover the following areas:
Materials Engineering (Metals, Ceramics and Glasses, Polymeric Materials, Composite Materials, Functional Materials)
Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology
Biomaterials
Material Characterization and Testing
Material Manufacturing Technologies
Energy Materials
Engineering Materials
Material Selection and Design
At MSNE, we encourage our students to work independently as well as in teams.
