The Department of Arts and Cultural Management at Yeditepe University’s Faculty of Fine Arts aims to educate curators, managers, and cultural professionals who can respond to the evolving dynamics of today’s art and cultural institutions. The program is built upon an interdisciplinary structure that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing students for leadership and innovation within the creative and cultural industries.
The program offers a curriculum that integrates theoretical fields such as art history, aesthetics, philosophy of art, and cultural theory; professional fields such as museology, gallery management, curatorship, performing arts, and collecting; and managerial fields such as arts law, budgeting and sponsorship management, public relations, communication strategies, audience development, and project management.
This structure enhances students’ ability to critically analyze the historical, social, and economic contexts of art, to comprehend processes of cultural production, and to contribute creatively to these processes
The program seeks to cultivate graduates who possess a holistic understanding of the relationships among art, artist, audience, institution, and market, and who can critically interpret, manage, and innovate within these frameworks. Students gain both theoretical and hands-on experience in contemporary fields such as video art, exhibition design, cultural policy, creative industries, archiving, and digital production.
Graduates of the program are qualified to work as art managers, curators, art writers, critics, consultants, archivists, and project coordinators in museums, galleries, art centers, festivals, auction houses, and cultural institutions at both national and international levels. They are also equipped with a strong theoretical and methodological foundation to pursue graduate studies in arts management, cultural policy, and media studies.
