Profile of the Programme

The medium of instruction at Yeditepe University is English. Therefore, the English Preparatory Program plays a critical role in enabling students to develop both their general and academic English skills before they begin their departmental studies. Our program aims for continuous improvement under the guidance of our qualified team of instructors, who closely follow and utilize contemporary technologies and pedagogical innovations.

The English Preparatory Program is an intensive language education program designed to ensure that students can use English effectively in both academic and social settings. The program aims to equip students enrolled in the university’s undergraduate departments with the necessary proficiency in English  before they begin their studies.

Structured according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) criteria, the English Preparatory Program is offered at three levels: A, B1, and B2. Through Main Course, Reading & Writing, and Speaking classes, students develop the four core language skills in an integrated manner. By the end of the program, students are expected to achieve B2 level proficiency according to the CEFR. At the B2 level, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) content is also offered to prepare students for the academic and professional language requirements of their departments.
