Profile of the Programme

The Department of Early Childhood Education at Yeditepe University was established in the 2025–2026 academic year and began admitting students in the same period. Students who successfully complete all program requirements are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

This four-year undergraduate program offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates subject-matter knowledge, professional teaching competencies, and general education courses. The language of instruction is English. The program aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to meet both national and international professional standards in early childhood education.

The primary mission of the department is to educate qualified teachers who can support the cognitive, emotional, social, linguistic, and physical development of children aged 0–6 years. The program emphasizes a child-centered and inclusive educational philosophy that is sensitive to children’s rights, individual differences, and cultural diversity. It promotes the development of ethical, creative, and pedagogically competent educators.

Throughout their education, students acquire up-to-date scientific knowledge related to early childhood development and education, while gaining hands-on experience through observation, internships, and project-based learning. They develop research-oriented thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills that are essential for effective professional practice.

Our program adopts contemporary educational approaches, digital pedagogy, and principles of sustainable development to prepare future educators who can respond to the changing needs of society. Graduates of the program are equipped not only to work as teachers in early childhood education institutions but also to take active roles in areas such as child policy, educational administration, special education, and academic research.
