Profile of the Programme

The Department of Architecture is one of the professions most favored and aimed for by the younger generation. Students who wish to receive education in this field must develop themselves during high school in mathematics, physics, social sciences (history, humanities, culture, sociology, art history), and drawing. A good architect must be interested in both social sciences and art, as well as closely connected to professional life. A student who aims for a career in this field must, in addition to success in academic courses, possess the ability to perceive spatial relationships — that is, to easily analyze objects in three dimensions. A student who does not have the necessary skills in drawing proper shapes and creativity may experience difficulties in the faculty of architecture. Furthermore, students who choose this profession should have sufficient knowledge of business and commerce and should have an active personality in human relations. An architect should be a socially responsible individual.

When the recent technological developments are examined, it is seen that the construction sector, like other technological fields, has progressed at an impressive pace. The simple methods previously used in architecture have been replaced by smart buildings or structures that exhibit eye-catching beauty with different designs. In this context, it is beneficial for today’s architects to be individuals capable of keeping up with such rapid changes.
