Yeditepe University is one of Türkiye’s pioneering institutions in research and innovation. In addition to 14 research centers and more than 500 laboratories, the support, commercialization, and transfer of scientific research to industry are facilitated by R&D laboratories, the Research Projects and Scientific Activities Support Commission, the Project Management Office, and the Technology Transfer Office. Academic projects are developed in cooperation with sector representatives, and students reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical experience.

Campus Life

Located in the foothills of Kayışdağı on the Anatolian Side of Istanbul, the 26 August Campus is one of the largest and most modern campuses in Türkiye, with 125,000 square meters of open space and 223,000 square meters of indoor space. With its buildings inspired by Seljuk architecture, wide green areas, modern educational buildings, social facilities, and dormitories that can accommodate nearly 3,700 students, it provides students with a safe, comfortable, and enriching living environment. Yeditepe University was selected as Türkiye’s greenest foundation university in the UI GreenMetric ranking, which determines the world’s greenest universities, in 2017 and 2018, and has maintained its place among the top ranks in the following years as well. Thanks to the 1 MW rooftop solar power plant located on campus and the wind energy investment in Şile, it is among the few universities that generate their own energy.

Student Life and Social Opportunities

Student life supports not only academic achievement but also social, cultural, and athletic development. At Yeditepe University, theatre performances, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, and various cultural and artistic events are organized throughout the year. In the modern sports complex, students’ physical development is supported through a swimming pool, fitness hall, tennis courts, and multi-purpose fields. Forty-nine student clubs and 48 sports teams enable students to develop their abilities in different areas and maintain an active social life.

Student Representation and Participatory Governance

Through representatives elected annually, the Student Council conveys students’ demands to the University administration and supports student participation in governance processes. While the Student Center provides social and academic support, the Career Development and Alumni Relations Directorate supports students in making a strong transition to professional life through internship and job opportunities, entrepreneurship support, alumni network connections, and personal development training. The Continuing Education Center, on the other hand, offers various certificate programs within the framework of lifelong learning.
