Application Requirements: Applicants to the English Literature Doctoral Program must have completed a master’s degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences with a minimum GPA of 3.25 out of 4.00 or its equivalent from universities in Türkiye, or from higher education institutions abroad whose equivalence is recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and where the language of instruction is English.
Applicants are also required to:
obtain a minimum score of 55 in any category of the ALES examination for doctoral programs (valid for five years);
demonstrate English language proficiency with a minimum score of 55 on the YDS or YÖKDİL within the last five years, or a minimum TOEFL score of 66;
successfully pass the Scientific Examination administered by the department.
Applicants who do not possess ALES or foreign language certificates at the time of application may be admitted as conditional students, provided that they submit the required documents within the specified time frame.
Admission Requirements: Applicants who successfully complete the application process are required to take the Scientific Examination administered by the department. The examination consists of two stages: a written exam and an oral exam. Candidates who achieve a satisfactory evaluation based on the examination results are admitted to the program.
Candidates whose academic background reveals deficiencies in field-specific knowledge may be required to complete scientific preparation courses prior to commencing doctoral coursework.
Registration Requirements: For applicants who have been granted the right to register, the Institute will review the submitted registration documents, assign a student number, and send the OBS username, password, and payment information via email.
Registration cannot be completed for applicants who have submitted incomplete or missing documents.
Upon confirmation of payment, students’ registrations will be activated.
