Educational Aim of the Program

  • The Department of Arts and Cultural Management at Yeditepe University aims to educate creative and critical professionals who are capable of understanding, managing, and shaping the interconnected processes of artistic production, cultural organization, and critical interpretation. The program seeks to develop individuals who can think interdisciplinarily, generate innovative approaches, and contribute to the formation and transformation of local and international cultural policies. Students are encouraged to critically analyze the social, economic, and cultural dimensions of art, while acquiring the ability to plan, manage, and evaluate cultural institutions and projects. In doing so, they become not only participants but also active agents of cultural transformation.

Educational Objectives of the Program

  • The Bachelor’s Degree Program in Arts and Cultural Management at Yeditepe University aims to educate individuals who can comprehend the interconnected processes of artistic production, cultural management, and critical interpretation through a holistic and interdisciplinary perspective. The program encourages students to critically analyze the historical, social, and economic contexts of art, and to take active roles in the planning, execution, and evaluation of cultural institutions and organizations. Within this framework, it promotes theoretical depth in art history, aesthetics, cultural theory, and philosophy of art; an understanding of the structural and functional dynamics of museums, galleries, festivals, and other art institutions; and practical experience in curatorial thinking, exhibition design, project management, and the creative industries. The program also enables students to develop managerial skills in areas such as arts law, sponsorship, audience development, and financial planning. Emphasizing ethical, aesthetic, and sustainable approaches to cultural production, the department seeks to train innovative professionals who can communicate effectively and contribute to cultural transformation at both national and international levels. Furthermore, it equips graduates with a strong theoretical and methodological foundation to pursue advanced studies in arts management, cultural policy, and media-related fields.
