Students Transferring from Other Universities
The previous education of students who transfer into undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programs is recognized in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Higher Education Council (YÖK) and under the coordination of the Adjustment Committee. Courses taken at other universities during prior education may be recognized and recorded in the student’s transcript if deemed compatible with the program by the Adjustment Committee.
Students enrolled through vertical transfer are first required to take the language exemption exam.
Foreign Language Exemption
Students who have received foreign language education in any formal, non-formal, or informal setting prior to their enrollment in undergraduate or graduate programs may be exempted from preparatory language education if they pass the foreign language exam administered by the Department of Foreign Languages. This exemption is also recorded in their transcript.
Recognition of Non-Formal and Informal Learning
At the beginning of each academic term, a foreign language exemption exam is held. Students who believe they have acquired the required competencies in this area are eligible to take the exam. Students who take and successfully pass the exam are exempted from the corresponding courses in the curriculum.
