Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

In horizontal transfers from within the University or from other universities, the provisions of the Regulation on the Principles Regarding Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs at Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer, published in the Official Gazette dated 24/4/2010 and numbered 27561, as well as the principles determined by the Senate, are applied.

If the student applies, courses required by the Council of Higher Education, such as TKL (Turkish Language), HTR (Atatürk’s Principles and History of Revolution), and HUM (History of Civilization), may be recognized for students who have taken these courses during their previous university education.

According to Article 5 of the Foreign Language Preparatory Program Regulation (https://yeditepe.edu.tr/sites/default/files/2025-10/yabanci_dil_hazirlik_yonetmeligi.pdf), students who have knowledge of German may be exempted from the preparatory class by passing the placement test. The students who may be exempted from the foreign language placement test are specified in Article 18 of the Yeditepe University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation (https://yeditepe.edu.tr/sites/default/files/2025-06/yo%CC%88netmelik.pdf).

In the case of horizontal transfer and upon the student’s application, the technical courses previously taken are evaluated by the Vocational School Administrative Board.
