Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

Students Transferring from Other Universities

The prior education of students before their placement in YTÜ (Yıldız Technical University) undergraduate, master's, or doctoral programs is recognized according to the relevant regulations of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and under the coordination of the Adaptation Commission. Courses taken at other universities as part of previous education are recognized and their grades are recorded on the transcript if the Adaptation Commission deems them appropriate for the said program.

Students who enroll via vertical transfer (Dikey Geçiş) are first required to take the English Exemption exam.

Foreign Language Exemption

Students who have received foreign language education within the scope of any formal, non-formal, or informal learning before being placed in YTÜ undergraduate or master's programs are exempted from preparatory education if they succeed in the foreign language exam administered by the Department of Foreign Languages, and this exemption is recorded on their transcripts.

Recognition of Non-formal and Informal Learning

A Foreign Language Exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic semester. Students who believe they meet the expected competencies in this field have the right to take these exams. Students who take and pass the exam are exempted from the relevant courses in their curriculum.
