1. ÖSYS (Student Selection and Placement Examination)
Students are placed according to the TM-2** score type from the Higher Education Council's Student Selection and Placement Examination (ÖSYS). For detailed information, you can visit our university's website.
2. Lateral Transfer
Internal (within-institution) and inter-institutional (between-institution) lateral transfers can be made based on the central placement score.
Lateral transfer application dates and quotas are listed annually on our university's Academic Calendar and website. The basic rules regarding lateral transfers are also available on the university website.
Students submit their lateral transfer applications to the Central Registrar's Office (Merkez Öğrenci İşleri). The Central Registrar's Office forwards the lateral transfer applications (approved by the University Lateral Transfer Commission) to the Faculties. The Faculties review the applicant's official transcript and determine the courses from which they may be exempted in the applied academic program.
General Rules for Internal (Within-Institution) Lateral Transfer:
a) Internal lateral transfers can be made to any undergraduate program within the university. b) Lateral transfers cannot be made to the first two semesters (first year) or the last two semesters (final year) of undergraduate programs. c) To apply for lateral transfer between undergraduate programs, it is required that the student's central placement score (in the relevant score type for the desired program) from the year they took the central exam is not less than the lowest score of equivalent undergraduate programs at other universities in the country.
General Rules for Inter-Institutional (Between-Institution) Lateral Transfer Based on Central Placement Score:
a) Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer Based on Central Placement Score is carried out between undergraduate programs of higher education institutions that admit students based on a central placement score. b) In applications for Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer Based on Central Placement Score, it is required that the student's placement score (from the year they took the central exam, in the relevant score type for the desired program) is equal to or higher than the lowest score of the intended undergraduate program at Yeditepe University. c) Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer Based on Central Placement Score can be made to intermediate classes of undergraduate programs, including the preparatory class. d) If the number of candidates who meet the condition mentioned in item 2 above does not exceed 10% of the total quota for the relevant program specified in the Student Selection and Placement System (ÖSYS) Guide for the application year, all of them are registered. The quota for Inter-Institutional Lateral Transfer Based on Central Placement Score for any program is determined based on the total quota in that year's ÖSYS guide, not separately for each semester or class. If the number of candidates exceeds the quota, candidates are registered starting from the one with the highest ÖSYS placement score, up to the limit of the quota.

3. Admission of Foreign Students
The principles regarding the admission of foreign students to higher education institutions are available at the Council of Higher Education's (YÖK) web address (https://www.yok.gov.tr/Documents/Ogrenci/BursDokuman/Yabanci_Uyruklu_Ogrenciler_Usul_ve_Esaslar_2019.pdf.pdf).
Foreign students can apply electronically in English or Turkish via the International Office website.
Students send copies of the required application documents listed on the International Office website, such as a diploma, a document certifying eligibility for university education, a transcript, and reference letters, to the International Office. Students must bring the original copies of the required documents to the Registrar's Office (Öğrenci İşleri) during registration.
The International Office forwards the completed application files to the Dean's Office of the relevant faculty. The Faculties review the applicant's official transcript and determine the courses from which they may be exempted in the applied academic program.
4. Exchange Students
The student must be a full-time student at their home university. There must be an inter-institutional agreement between the student's university and Yeditepe University. The home university must officially nominate the student for the relevant exchange program. The student's home university sends the application documents to the YTÜ (Yıldız Technical University) External Relations Office. Applications are evaluated by the relevant department and the External Relations Office.
