Candidates applying for a doctorate must document that they have completed any master's program with thesis. In Turkey, outside the formal educational institutions, recognition of non-formal certification process and experience-based learning is at an early stage. For this reason, recognition of prior learning in Yeditepe University's programs has not been fully initiated.
