Courses taken by students at other higher education institutions before enrolling in the Yeditepe University Thesis-Based Master’s Program are evaluated in accordance with the Council of Higher Education (CoHE/YÖK) regulations, the Yeditepe University Graduate Education and Training Regulations, and the relevant Senate/Institute principles and procedures. If the previously completed courses are found to be compatible with the program in terms of content, credit/ECTS value, learning outcomes, and academic achievement, course exemption/credit transfer may be granted upon the recommendation of the Department/Program Board (and/or the Adaptation–Exemption Commission) and with the approval of the Institute Administrative Board.Approved courses are then recorded on the student’s transcript.
For students admitted from engineering and basic science disciplines other than Biomedical Engineering, Scientific Preparatory courses may be assigned depending on their undergraduate background. These preparatory courses are implemented to support students in achieving the program competencies and learning outcomes.
In line with the language of instruction of the program, students’ foreign language proficiency is assessed according to the criteria set by the University/Institute. Students who successfully pass the foreign language proficiency/exemption exam administered by the University, or who provide valid proof of proficiency through accepted national/international examinations (if applicable), may be exempted from the relevant language requirements.
