Educational Aim of the Program

  • The primary aim of the program is to support the professional development of experienced English language teachers and to enhance the quality of English language teaching in the country. The program seeks to deepen candidates’ theoretical knowledge of language teaching and enable them to effectively apply this knowledge in classroom practice. It also aims to contribute to their specialization in English Language Teaching, teacher education, assessment and evaluation, materials development, and educational research.

Educational Objectives of the Program

  • Upon successful completion of the program, students are expected to be able to evaluate and develop instructional materials, critically examine language teaching methods and techniques, and analyze educational concepts and data using scientific approaches. Students will be able to use literary texts effectively in language skills instruction and communicate their research findings clearly in both written and oral forms. They are also expected to design lesson plans that develop learners’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, to improve their assessment and evaluation competencies, and to evaluate testing tools in terms of validity, reliability, and practicality. Finally, students are expected to compare theories of first and second language learning and to continuously update their professional knowledge in response to technological and pedagogical developments.
