INTRODUCTION
The Department of Nursing at Yeditepe University aims to educate nurses in line with universal standards, advancing steadily under the guidance of science and technology. The program ensures that students acquire both the ability to conduct research using scientific evidence and the competence to apply nursing skills effectively. It also emphasizes the development of teamwork awareness. Yeditepe University is committed to raising individuals who recognize human needs, are capable of empathy, confident, self-disciplined, proactive, evidence-based in practice, capable of making independent decisions, devoted to professional principles, inquisitive, entrepreneurial, respectful of patient rights, and motivated toward lifelong learning.
Nursing is inherently a profession that requires teamwork. In this department, patients’ treatment and care are taught by an expert academic staff through a holistic approach, while students are also trained to become nurses who are preferred in the workforce. Students enhance their professional experience through active participation in scientific events, completion of a graduation thesis, and clinical internships. In addition to professional training, Yeditepe University offers various clubs and extracurricular activities designed to support students’ social and cultural development.
This program is particularly suitable for students with humanistic and positive personalities who are resilient in the face of challenges and who take pleasure in continuous learning and development. One of the main advantages of the program is the opportunity for clinical practice. Supported by the university’s own hospitals and clinics equipped with advanced technology, students gain early exposure to professional life. The curriculum includes all the fundamental knowledge necessary to learn the profession. Students who internalize the basic principles of nursing consolidate their foundation further through other health science courses. By participating in one day of clinical practice per week, nursing students reinforce classroom learning and acquire essential practical skills. In addition to core nursing courses, students take subjects such as health psychology, social awareness, critical thinking, article appraisal, history of civilization, Turkish language, and research methods to strengthen their overall competence.
LABORATORY FACILITIES
The department is equipped with a simulation laboratory that allows students to practice and enhance their clinical skills in a realistic, technology-supported environment.

DOUBLE MAJOR OPPORTUNITIES
Students of the Department of Nursing may pursue a double major in the following departments:
Conditions for Double Major Programs
Students who are successfully enrolled in an undergraduate program may, upon approval, pursue a second bachelor’s degree in another program within the university. The double major program must include a minimum of 30 additional credits beyond the requirements of the primary major, while meeting all requirements for both programs.
Applications may be submitted between the third and fifth semesters of the primary program (or up to the seventh semester in programs exceeding four years). To be eligible, students must have successfully completed all courses in their primary major up to the time of application, hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 (3.25 for scholarship eligibility), and meet or exceed the minimum admission score of the target program for that year.
Programs that require a talent examination also require students to pass this exam. Students cannot enroll in more than one double major simultaneously but may combine a double major with a minor program. A student may transfer from their main major to the second major if eligibility conditions are met.
During the double major study, the GPA for the second major may drop to 2.50 once; if it falls below 2.50 again, the student’s enrolment in the second program is terminated. Students who do not take courses from the second major for two consecutive semesters are also dismissed from that program. To graduate from the double major program, a minimum GPA of 2.70 and fulfillment of all graduation requirements are required.
A second bachelor’s diploma is awarded only if the student graduates from the main major. If graduation requirements for the double major remain incomplete, the student may be granted up to two additional semesters (or, in programs with heavier workloads, up to two more semesters) to complete them.
